Mod settings through the SkyUI game menu

Drops:
- Water drips from the dynamic part of the body during rain and after swimming. The amount of water that drains after bathing depends on whether you are wearing armor or not.
- Pleasant water sound effects after swimming.
- The drops will stop if you take shelter from the rain under bridges, cornices, roofs, etc.

Raindrops:
- If you look up during the rain, you will get a sharp blackout almost immediately - this is the blinking effect when the drops fall into the eyes.

Come back home:
- Some NPCs will go home when it rains. The workers of the NPS will remain in their places. Children will run away from the rain. Argonians and beggars will remain on the street. NPCs not living nearby will go to the tavern.

Rain hood:
- If you have SKSE 1.06.16 and above installed, then all NPCs, except for Argonians and beggars, will use hoods when it rains if they have a free slot for it. After the rain, they will not immediately take them off, but only after a couple of minutes.

Cold breath:
- The closer you are to a cold region, the more you will see the evaporation from exhalation.
- Breathing is also supported by animals both from the mouth and from the nose. During a conversation with the NPC, evaporation will be more often seen.
- Breathing adapted for each type of creatures. Creatures currently supported: Giants, horses, dogs, wolves, bears, sabertooths, Falmer, werewolves, and trolls.
- Check your breath after entering an unknown dungeon in a cold region - this is a hint of what lies ahead. If it is cold enough and breathing is clearly visible, then it is unlikely that NPCs live further.

Strong winds:
- If you are caught in a snowstorm (weather classification: snow and wind speed > 0.5), then all nearby NPCs will have their movement speed reduced by 15%.
- The soundtrack of the blizzard has been increased in the surroundings and mountainous areas.

Blizzard Blur:
- Snow will periodically dazzle the eye, i.е. some blurring will be visible - this gives realism, because in a blizzard it is difficult to move.
- NPCs are more difficult to detect targets during a snowstorm, i.e. it will not be so easy for the enemy ahead to notice you, unlike the usual situation.

Come back home:
- Most NPCs except guards and beggars will return to their homes during a snowstorm. If the NPC does not live nearby, then he will go to the tavern.

Fur hood:
- If you have SKSE 1.06.09 and above installed, then all NPCs except beggars will be equipped with fur hoods and gloves in cold regions if their slots are free.

Companions:
- Support for automatically equipping a hood from rain and blizzards is added for companions.

When it rains:
- Water dynamically drips from the body during rain and after swimming.
- The amount of water that drips after swimming depends on what kind of armor you have on or you are naked
- Soft water dripping with sound effects after bathing.
- Drops will stop dripping if you are under cover (bridges, cornices, roofs, etc.)
- Raindrops will blind you intermittently if you look up.
- Civilian NPCs will return to their homes as soon as it starts to rain. Adults will walk faster.
- Argonians, beggars and working class NPCs will stay outdoors. If the NPCs don't live nearby, he/she will go to the inn.
- All NPCs except Argonians and Beggars will be equipped with hoods when it rains if they are equipped with hoods
- After the rain stops, they will remove them immediately

AT cold weather:
- You will exhale visible vapor in cold regions and other characters will have the same effect.
- Nose steam will appear while inhaling while talking (NPC only), running or fighting.
- Frosty Steam is currently supported for: giants, horses, dogs and wolves.
- Check your breath after entering an unknown dungeon. If you see yourself breathing, it is unlikely that NPCs live there...

In strong wind:
- If caught in a blizzard (weather classification: snowy and wind speed > 0.5) you and all nearby NPCs will receive a 15% movement speed slow.
- The sound of the wind has been increased, in snowstorms and in mountainous areas.
- Snow blinds intermittently during a blizzard. Face down or back against a wall to avoid. This feature is disabled by default for the player.
- Blinded NPCs will have difficulty detecting the target.
- Most civilian NPCs except guards and beggars will return to their homes during a snowstorm. If the NPCs don't live nearby, he/she will go to the inn.
- All NPCs except beggars will wear fur hoods and gloves in cold regions if enabled in the settings. Due to cold resistance, Nords will only warm up at night

Items from other mods:
- NPCs will be equipped with backpacks depending on the region
- With the Frostfall mod installed - NPCs can equip items from the Month of Frost
- With the Cloaks of Skyrim mod installed - Cloaks in Skyrim (summer), in rainy weather NPCs can wear capes from this mod
- With the Winter Is Coming - Cloaks mod installed - Winter cloaks, in cold weather, NPCs can wear cloaks from this mod

Solution of problems:
- If you are having problems with FPC, scenes/quests due to the NPC going home in bad weather, wait for the rain and storm to end, or simply disable this option in the settings temporarily or permanently
- If for some reason the NPC has grown together with a hood or gloves and does not want to take it off, open the console, click on it and type resurrect. This will reboot the Persian and he will be dressed in his usual clothes

  • Snow will periodically blind the eye, i.e. some blurring will be visible - this gives realism, because in a blizzard it is difficult to move.
  • It is more difficult for NPCs to detect targets during a snowstorm, i.e. it will not be so easy for the enemy ahead to notice you, unlike the usual situation.

Come back home

  • Most NPCs other than guards and beggars will return to their homes during a snowstorm. If the NPC does not live nearby, then he will go to the tavern.

Fur hood

  • If you have SKSE 1.06.16 or higher installed, all NPCs except beggars will be equipped with fur hoods and gloves in cold regions if their slots are free.

Companions

  • Added support for automatically equipping a hood against rain and snowstorms for companions.

Opportunities in the rain

  • Water dynamically drips from the body during rain and after swimming.
  • The amount of water that drips after bathing depends on what kind of armor you have on or you are naked.
  • Soft water dripping with sound effects after bathing.
  • Drops will stop dripping if you are under cover (bridges, cornices, rooftops, etc.).
  • Raindrops will blind you intermittently if you look up.
  • Civilian NPCs will return to their homes as soon as it starts to rain. Adults will walk faster.
  • Argonians, beggars and working class NPCs will remain outdoors. If the NPCs don't live nearby, he/she will go to the inn.
  • All NPCs except Argonians and Beggars will be equipped with hoods when it rains if they are equipped with hoods.
  • After the rain stops, they will remove them immediately.

Cold Weather Capabilities

  • You will exhale visible vapor in cold regions and other characters will have the same effect.
  • Nose vapor will appear while inhaling while talking (NPC only), running or fighting.
  • Frosty steam is currently supported for: giants, horses, dogs and wolves.
  • Check your breath after entering an unknown dungeon. If you see yourself breathing, it's unlikely that NPCs live there.

Possibilities in strong winds

  • If you are caught in a blizzard (weather classification: snowy and wind speed > 0.5) you and all nearby NPCs will receive a 15% movement speed slow.
  • The sound of the wind has been increased, in snowstorms and in mountainous areas.
  • Snow blinds intermittently during a blizzard. Face down or press against a wall to avoid. This feature is disabled by default for the player.
  • Blinded NPCs will have difficulty detecting the target.
  • Most civilian NPCs other than guards and beggars will return to their homes during a snowstorm. If the NPCs don't live nearby, he/she will go to the inn.
  • All NPCs except beggars will wear fur hoods and gloves in cold regions if enabled in settings. Due to their resistance to cold, Nords will only warm up at night.

Items from other mods

  • NPCs will equip backpacks depending on the region.
  • With the Frostfall - Month of Frost mod installed, NPCs can equip items from it.
  • With the Cloaks of Skyrim mod installed - Cloaks in Skyrim (summer), in rainy weather, NPCs can wear raincoats from this mod.
  • With the Winter Is Coming - Cloaks mod installed, in cold weather, NPCs can wear cloaks from this mod.

Possible problems

  • If you are having problems with FPC, scenes/quests due to NPCs going home in bad weather, wait for the rain and storm to end, or simply disable this option in the settings temporarily or permanently.
  • If for some reason the NPC has grown together with a hood or gloves and does not want to take it off, open the console, click on it and type resurrect. This will reset the Persian and he will be dressed in his usual clothes.

Update:

  • Important: Save indoors before upgrading from any version of the mod (highly recommended). This also applies to any addons like Wet and Freeze-Ash for the Dragonborn DLC.
  • Warning: Before installing from previous versions up to 2.0 to new versions v2.0 and above, you need to make a save without any previous version installed (highly recommended) or do a clean install (delete wetandcold.esp/.bsa from the Data folder in the game, save and then reinstall) for the mod to function properly. Make sure you only have one version of Wet and Cold installed.
  • With updates from versions 2.0 and above, this mod is automatically updated with each new edition. When updating (manually or through mod managers), simply uninstall the previous version and install the new version.
  • Warning: The Holidays mod has been completely redesigned and comes as a completely standalone mod. Wet and Cold v2.0 and above no longer supports the Wet and Cold - Holidays mod. Please remove the Wet and Cold - Holidays mod and install the new version of Holidays.
  • Fast movement around the map after the update is recommended in order for the scripts to be registered in the game.

Removal:

  • Make a clean room save with effects and settings disabled in the MCM, and then delete all installed files.
