How to bake pies with strawberries in the oven

First, we need to start the yeast dough. We dissolve the yeast in warm milk, and beat margarine, 100 g of sugar and two eggs in a blender.

Then, combine milk and whipped mixture in a deep bowl and mix well.

Divide the amount of flour indicated in the recipe in half. At the stage of kneading the dough, we need 300 grams of flour. In small portions, pre-sifted flour, mix into the dough.

Then we set the dough to rise in heat for forty minutes.

Add the remaining 300 grams of flour to the dough, knead the dough and let it rest for another fifteen minutes.

During this time, we will have time to prepare the berries for the filling. First you need to wash the strawberries and remove the tails from it.

For pies, try to choose small strawberries, but if you have large berries, then they need to be cut in half. Sprinkle the sorted strawberries with starch. This is done so that when baking, the juice does not flow out of the pies, but is retained in the berries.

Let's start making pies. From a large piece of dough, tear off pieces the size of a tennis ball with your hands. Try to keep the pieces of dough the same, then the pies will look neat and bake evenly.

First, form a ball from a torn piece of dough, and then, using a rolling pin, slightly roll it into a cake. Pour a teaspoon of sugar on the center of the cake and spread the filling (2-3 strawberries).

Then, we sculpt the pie like a dumpling, but we wrap its upper edge inward.

If you are more accustomed to another way of sculpting pies, you can use it.

As a result, I got half a baking sheet of pies. We put the pies in a warm place for half an hour so that they rise.

Try not to press hard so that the dough does not settle. We will bake yeast pies with strawberries in a preheated oven over medium heat for twenty minutes.

70~80g yeast dough, 3~9 strawberries (60~80g), 1~2 tsp sugar (8~15g), 1/3 teaspoon starch (~3g), vegetable oil for frying

Divide the dough into pieces weighing 70~80 grams and roll them into balls.




Roll out the balls into cakes with a diameter of 12~14cm.




Sprinkle a third of a teaspoon of starch and one teaspoon of sugar on each cake.




Put strawberries on top.
If the strawberries are sour, then pour another spoonful of sugar on top.




Pinch the pies.





Pour vegetable oil into the pan with a layer of 1 ~ 1.5 cm. Put the pan on medium heat. Lay the pies seam side down.




Fry until browned. Turn the pies over to the other side, reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a lid. Fry until done.

  1. We heat 250 milliliters of milk in any way convenient for you. I warmed up in a small cauldron, so it's easier to control the heating temperature.
  2. We make steam. To do this, mix a tablespoon of dry yeast and 25 grams of sugar in a bowl, sift 100 grams of flour through a sieve and mix.

    Did you know? Take your choice of yeast seriously. It is better to give preference to live, pressed. But the dry yeast option is also not bad, especially if you take instant ones. Be sure to look at the date of manufacture and expiration date on the package. Old yeast won't work. By the way, in addition to carbohydrates and fats, they contain vitamins, proteins and trace elements.

  3. Then pour warm milk in parts. Stir until the yeast and sugar are completely dissolved.

  4. Cover the bowl with a towel and leave the dough in a warm place for 30 minutes to activate the yeast.
  5. Break 2 raw eggs into a separate bowl, pour 50 grams of sugar, add a pinch of salt and 5 grams of vanilla sugar. Beat everything with a whisk until smooth.

  6. When the dough comes up, combine it with beaten eggs and mix gently. Pour 80 milliliters of vegetable oil. It can be replaced with 100 grams of melted butter, it will give a creamier flavor and a slightly different texture to the dough. But both options are the same.

  7. Gradually we mix 300 grams of flour into the dough, sifting it through a sieve, thereby making the dough more magnificent. Mix with a spoon and then with your hands. You can use a bread maker at this stage if you have one. If not, we work with our hands, burn calories, thereby “making room” for future pies.

  8. When the dough becomes difficult to knead in a bowl, sprinkle the worktop with flour and knead the dough on it. It turns out smooth pliable and not sticky to hands. Put the kneaded dough, formed into a ball, in a clean bowl, cover with a towel and leave for 1 hour in a warm place.
