Bolat Nazarbayev and his family. President's family: Nursultan Nazarbayev. Close associates of the President

Technology

Bolat Nazarbayev, the brother of Kazakhstan's "leader of the nation," recently gave a luxurious gift to his ten classmates. Each of them received a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 jeep. And this pleasure cost Bolat Abishevich a million bucks.

In the recently published article "How Bolat Nazarbayev swindled investors" we conveyed a "swag" about the specific "business" of the younger brother of the Kazakh "leader of the nation", and today we will talk about how Bolat Abishevich Nazarbayev beats "show-offs" to everyone's surprise and envy. The very ones that are one of the favorite pastimes of the representatives of the domestic elite, when someone acquires letters from Napoleon Bonaparte in their collection, and someone defiantly throws diamond dust into the eyes of fellow tribesmen.

So, the Elbasy's brother belongs to the category of the latter. That is why he buys super-expensive apartments in New York, brings a Ferrari, which has nowhere to accelerate in Kazakhstan, and performs many other demonstrative actions. For example, recently Bolat Abishevich gathered his classmates for a joint event, and in order to please the guests and raise himself even higher in the eyes of others, he presented each of them with a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 jeep.

All this happened, I mean the meeting of classmates, in the Madonna restaurant in Kaskelen. According to our sources, the cars cost the donor $105,000 per copy, and the number of recipients was ten people. So this "show-off" cost Bolat Nazarbayev a million dollars as a result.

It is not surprising that in Kazakhstan everyone is trying to get into power, and if it does not work out, then to those who are close to this power. Agree, it is much more profitable than to survive by honest labor.

How Bolat Nazarbayev bent investors

Nursultan Nazarbayev (in the foreground) with his brother Bolat (in a hat)

Nazarbayev's brother Bolat Abishevich continues to bend investors, taking away the business he likes from them. Moreover, the Elbasy himself is no longer able to cope with it. This is evidenced by a story told to us the other day by a source in the corridors of power.

Before we had time to tell the whole world about what chic gifts the deputy head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Almaty region, police colonel Nurbol Bolatovich Nazarbayev, gives his father (read "About Nurbol Nazarbayev and his gift to his father"), we were informed about another business success of Bolat Abishevich Nazarbayev himself. Unfortunately, we were never given any supporting documents, so we retell the information as a rumor.

It turns out that some representatives of the Kurdish diaspora in Kazakhstan, with the support of their foreign compatriots and with their money, built a whole vegetable-growing complex, including capital greenhouses and warehouses for long-term storage of finished products. And since all this happened in the Karasai district of the Almaty region, the brother of the “leader of the nation” soon found out about this.

Since Bolat Abishevich in this region is an unofficial “king, god and military leader”, by whom not even a fly will fly, he was outraged by such initiative of newly-minted businessmen. The Elbasy's brother personally came to their office and, without further ado, demanded to give him half of the share in the project. Just like that, for free, for, so to speak, general patronage.

Dumbfounded by the "businesslike" pressure of the closest relative of the head of state, entrepreneurs scratched their heads and turned to their foreign investors for support. After meetings and consultations with knowledgeable people, they decided to contact Nursultan Nazarbayev himself in order to ask him for protection from an insolent relative.

According to our source, this was done through diplomatic channels. As a result, the complainants and their partners were given the personal assurances of the Kazakh “leader of the nation” that everything would be fine and that Nursultan Nazarbayev’s statements that the republic was waiting for foreign investors and investments, for which the most favorable conditions were created in the country, were by no means an empty phrase.

Alas, just a few days after the successful completion of the correspondence with the administration of the head of state, Bolat Nazarbayev again showed up at the businessmen's office and said that since they did not want to work with him in a good way, they would cooperate in a bad way. After that, he demanded for himself not half, but 60% of the project. And finally got them.

Plus, as a moral compensation for the spent nerve cells, Kurdish entrepreneurs were forced to pay for an expensive charter flight from Kazakhstan to the United Arab Emirates and back, as well as renting a luxurious villa for the Elbasy’s brother and his dear guests, so that Bolat Abishevich could celebrate his birthday there.

All this cost investors a pretty penny, but where to go? When investors and their partners calculated possible losses as a result of the promised cancellation of all permits, raids by tax officials, firefighters, SES, power engineers and land surveyors, they were forced to give in. Now they are in painful reflections: wouldn't it be safer and more profitable for them to do business in their homeland?

About Nurbol Nazarbayev and his gift to his father

Bolat Nazarbayev's son Nurbol gave his dad a $3.5 million restaurant and hotel complex on the territory of the reserve

Complex "Sarbaz"

We have told readers many times about Bolat Abishevich Nazarbayev, the younger brother of the “leader of the nation” and the uncrowned khan of the Almaty region, the “hero” of many scandalous stories, not only in our country, but also abroad, for example, in the USA. Including often remembered his son Nurbol.

This is the same Nurbol who scandalously appeared for the first time at the age of 23, having become the prosecutor of the city of Kapshagay, and now, with the rank of police colonel, he holds the position of deputy head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Almaty region.

So, it turns out that Nurbol Nazarbayev is not only the owner of a large estate in the upper part of Kaskelen near Almaty, with a house - a palace and a land plot of two hectares, but he also often travels with a personal chef. Well, the fact that the Elbasy's nephew has additional to his salary, and also considerable shadow income, is evidenced by his recent gift to his own father. Nurbol presented Bolat Nazarbayevich with the Sarbaz restaurant.

Almaty residents, who have the financial opportunity to visit institutions of this level, know this place very well.

The Sarbaz complex is located in the Alma-Arasan gorge in the Almaty region and includes restaurants of oriental and Japanese cuisine, three saunas, a mountain hotel, a pond with live trout, a large summer area with several gazebos and a huge parking lot for guests.

What “kills” the most is that “Sarbaz” is located on the territory of the Ile-Alatau Reserve, and at the same time, all supervisory authorities turn a blind eye to this.

According to our source in Akorda, the former owner of the complex, businessman and deputy of the Maslikhat of the Almaty region, Galym Sadibekov, received $3.5 million for it, part of which he used to buy a house in the Luxor complex on Dostyk Avenue.

As for Sarbaz itself, Bolat Abishevich wants to rename it to NurBol. The fact is that the former institution under this name ceased to exist in connection with the construction of a new residential complex on the corner of Seifullin and Gogol.

Revelations of Bolat Nazarbayev

"I received 15 billion dollars from my brother, as it were, for management"

Bolat Nazarbayev revealed the secret of his personal fortune. Allegedly recently, in a circle of trusted persons, he admitted that he had received $ 15 billion from his brother, as if in management. Boasting or is it really true?

Those who are aware of Maira Kurmangaliyeva’s family and financial relationships with the Elbasy’s brother Bolat Nazarbayev must have been very surprised that the second part of the wedding of Mayra’s eldest son Daniyar Kesikbayev with the daughter of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Nuriana Najva, was held at home, in Almaty, with great pomp - to the loud night fireworks that woke up the entire southern capital.

And this is after a loud, long and scandalous showdown between Mayra and her ex-husband, the father of the youngest son, who splashed out far beyond the borders of Kazakhstan. Suffice it to recall the arrest of Mrs. Kurmangaliyeva in the UAE at the request of the Kazakh authorities, her house arrest in her homeland, the lawsuit between former relatives in New York, the showdown over the seizure of large real estate in Almaty, which belonged to Bolat Nazarbayev. [...]

Judging by the fact that Mayra Kurmganaliyeva is now quietly visiting the country, not experiencing any problems with domestic law enforcement agencies, and litigations in foreign courts between her and her ex-husband, if they have not stopped, then their participants prefer to hush them up, the president himself intervened in the matter. Why do we think so? Because Bolat Abishevich simply would not listen to another person, moreover, he would send him away, regardless of rank and age.

Another question is why Nursultan Abishevich decided to intervene after all? The answer to it is much more interesting than studying and commenting on the problems of his brother with his ex-wife, albeit at the cost of several tens of millions of dollars.

So, as a source told us, the other day, Bolat Nazarbayev, having taken a large portion of alcohol on his chest in a circle of trusted persons, boasted to them that his personal fortune was 15 billion dollars, received from his brother, as if in management.

If this is true, then it turns out that Mayra Kurmangalieva and her lawyers put pressure on the most painful place of Bolat Nazarbayev and his older brother - on the billions collected by "hard work". After all, according to the law, in the event of a divorce, the spouse can claim half of the jointly acquired property.

Judging by the fact that Akorda withdrew any claims against Mrs. Kurmangalieva and her eldest son Daniyar Kesikbaev, these arguments turned out to be effective.

By the way, Bolat Nazarbayev recently got an armored Bentley limousine, the price of which in the simplest configuration exceeds 250 thousand British pounds, so the life of the Elbasy's brother is really more valuable than any money. After all, if, God forbid, something happens to him, Nursultan Nazarbayev will have to sue for 15 billion dollars of inheritance with the same Mayra Kurmangaliyeva, whom you don’t put a finger in her mouth.

The ex-wife of Bolat Nazarbayev Mayra Kurmangalieva was taken to Kazakhstan and is under house arrest. The newspaper ADAM bol writes about it.

The publication writes that a trial is ahead, and “even today we can safely say that the process will beat all ratings in terms of scandalousness.”

The publication also writes that Mayra Kurmangaliyeva may be charged with millions of dollars that were used to buy two apartments on Wall Street, and they may also “incriminate the story of the illegal privatization of the Almaty Heavy Machine Building Plant (AZTM), fraud, extortion, arbitrariness, including kidnapping person."

“Apparently, this is why Mayra Kurmangalieva has been seeking political asylum in the United States in recent years. To this end, she married an Azerbaijani businessman, Zaur Abdullayev, who, according to some sources, belongs to the Ergenikon group, an organization in Turkey accused of attempting a coup d'état,” writes ADAM bol.

The material also contains excerpts from Mayra Kurmangaliyeva's letter to Bolat Nazarbayev:

“Dear, beloved Bolat Abishevich. I regret many things, understand correctly, a loving wife does wrong things, guided by emotions. Having returned home, I hoped for your understanding, participation and those feelings that matter between us today. We have a son who bears your last name and your blood flows in his veins, who loves both of us - both me and you. And whose future should concern us ... I am ready to accept all your conditions in the name of our son's future and his well-being, the well-being of the family. I ask you not to listen to people who want to cash in on this situation with all their might. I repeat once again - I made many mistakes, for which I apologize to you.

“So far, she (Maira Kurmangaliyeva) has been hidden from the eyes of the public and the press in the “interests of the investigation.” Perhaps, in the near future, her defender, the notorious lawyer Serik Sarsenov, will put the emphasis on it,” concludes ADAM bol.

Takhsin Akkash came under pressure from Mayra Nazarbayeva, the wife of the younger brother of the Kazakh president. Yesterday they had a big joint construction business. And today, the Turkish businessman had to take refuge in the Turkish embassy and literally escape from Kazakhstan. On March 15, Tahsin Akkash reportedly held a revealing press conference in Turkey.

As Ebru Tsandan, an employee of the Turkish construction company Pegasus, told the Parovoz program on the night of March 15, their colleague Tahsin Akkash reached the airport of the emirate of Dubai with great difficulty, where a police squad was called to protect him from the "mafia". Tahsin Akkash worked as the chief architect of a company owned by Bolat Nazarbayev, which is also run by his wife Mayra Nazarbayeva, the Taszhargan and Svoboda Slova newspapers report.

According to Ebru Tsandan, Tahsin Akkash had to work hard to get from the Turkish embassy to the Almaty airport, where he was attacked, where they tried to take away his Turkish passport, but he was able to reach the aircraft cabin. According to her, the dangers haunted him at the Dubai airport:

He should be at the Dubai airport by now. We fear for his safety there too, because we were told that the mafia was expecting him there too.

It should be noted that this is not the first case in Kazakhstan when Turkish construction companies get into a maelstrom of showdowns in a dramatic style. In January 2007, there were unrest at the construction company Gate Inshaat in the Atyrau region, where hundreds of Kazakh workers were involved in open conflict with Turkish managers. In October 2006, in the same Atyrau region, again at the oil fields, there was a mass brawl between Kazakh workers and Turkish workers.

It was reported that after the events, due to fears for their safety, 1,200 Turkish citizens left Kazakhstan, who were in the place where the riots took place. During the fight at the Tengiz field, 193 Turkish citizens were injured. After these events, publications appeared in the Kazakh press, where the Turkish partners of Kazakhstan were exposed in an unambiguously negative light.

But the events around businessman Tahsin Akkash have also taken on the color of a cautious diplomatic conflict. The editorial offices of newspapers and TV and radio companies in Almaty were flooded with emails from supporters of Tahsin Akkash asking for emergency help. Controversial websites in English, Turkish, Kazakh and Russian have quickly appeared on the Internet without specifying the address and names of the publishers.

They allege that Tahsin Akkash is threatened with physical violence by the people of Maira Nazarbayeva. Events have developed and are developing very rapidly. Judging by the reports of the Taszhargan newspaper, Tahsin Akkash was both kidnapped and threatened by the Almaty police, and at the same time by the mafia. On Thursday, March 13, Tahsin Akkash allegedly had to take refuge for the second time in the Turkish embassy in Almaty on Tole bi street.

The Turkish embassy neither confirmed nor denied these reports. Attempts by Radio Azattyk correspondents to get any comment from the Turkish embassy or from the Almaty police were unsuccessful. Bagdat Kozhakhmetov, spokesman for the Kazakh Interior Ministry, told us that he only knew about the conflict from the Internet and was ready to provide any information as soon as it appeared.

Despite the fact that the Turkish embassy declined to comment, its building was indeed surrounded by a reinforced police squad. There were also some suspicious cars with tinted windows, one of which Tahsin Akkash's supporters called nothing more than a car where "mafia mercenaries" sit. Correspondents of Radio Azattyk managed to get through to Tahsin Akkash's mobile phone on Friday evening, and he confirmed that he was in danger, that he was indeed at the moment in the embassy building, where he was provided with a safe stay:

Yes, I'm at the embassy now, negotiations are underway, I can't say anything right now. As soon as this is over, I myself will call you on Saturday morning and tell you the situation.

Thaksin Akkash, however, shied away from a broader comment, promising to personally call the editorial office of Radio Azattyk and tell about everything. However, we did not receive his call. And on Friday evening, he said that some negotiations were underway, that he could not say anything detailed yet.

Judging by the fact that the stream of lightning-fast emails in Russian and English subsided abruptly, the situation around Thaksin Akkash began to discharge. However, what is the broader essence of this conflict? The Taszhargan newspaper writes that another name of a member of the Nazarbaev family, the name of another of his relatives, has appeared in the political orbit of Kazakhstan, but immediately in a negative perspective. "Taszhargan" writes that Bolat Nazarbayev's family allows themselves unheard of luxury at a time when the majority of the population of Kazakhstan lives in poverty.

Why does it happen that the public learns about the involvement of the Nazarbayev family in big business only when an irreparable conflict occurs between business partners? And why does the degree of such conflicts take on motifs of gangster films?

Yerzhan Dosmukhamedov, the chairman of the unregistered Atameken party, who lives in exile, said in an interview with the Parovoz program that in fact such extraordinary events cause great damage to the image of Kazakhstan, that the initially risky business with members of the elite of Kazakhstan was built on a corruption basis:

This situation causes enormous damage to the image of our state. Image not only commercial, economic, but above all political. Since we are actually talking about the absence of the rule of law in our country. When forceful methods begin to be used by representatives of the ruling elite against entrepreneurs, such facts look wild and uncivilized.

Yerzhan Dosmukhamedov says that in this situation, the authorities of Kazakhstan should not remain silent, because the issue is not only about the image of the country, Nursultan Nazarbayev's family has become the center of the scandal. If in the situation with the former son-in-law Rakhat Aliyev, the President of Kazakhstan reacted promptly, then now he must act just as quickly, says Yerzhan Dosmukhamedov:

If all the facts reported by the media prove to be true, President Nazarbaev should express his uncompromising position. Because everyone must be equal before the law.

On Sunday, our editorial office received another e-mail from Turkey, from an employee of the Pegasus company, Ebru Tsandan, that Thaksin Akkash had held a press conference in Turkey. His supporters' hastily created websites say they are launching a whistleblowing campaign against "a communist-type mafia in the beautiful Turkic country of Kazakhstan."

Supporters of Thaksin Akkash are promising to soon release a book exposing corruption in Kazakhstan. It should be noted that the events around Thaksin Akkas received extremely poor coverage both in the press of Kazakhstan and in the press of Turkey.

He accuses her of embezzling a $20 million New York apartment.

Kurmangalieva's son, Daniyar Kesikbaev, was declared as a co-defendant in the lawsuit (according to the Reporter, this is Kurmangalieva's son from a previous marriage). The plaintiff believes that Daniyar and Maira were in collusion.

Mayra Kurmangalieva

The apartment in question is located in the building of the luxurious Plaza Hotel (which contains both hotel rooms and private apartments). The president's brother purchased it in early 2008. At the same time, he instructed his then wife Mayra and stepson Daniyar to register the apartment in his name. However, Daniyar, as follows from the lawsuit, registered housing in the name of his mother, and then fictitiously “sold” it to himself for zero dollars.

Bolat Nazarbayev's lawsuit also alleges that his stepson bought two apartments on Wall Street worth $2 million each with his stepfather's money.

Plaza Hotel, New York

The president's brother, according to The New York Post, is demanding the return of an apartment at the Plaza Hotel, as well as money for said Wall Street apartments.

Bolat Nazarbayev was married to Maira Kurmangalieva from 2001 to 2011.

Even before Kurmangaliyeva's divorce, as the Vremya newspaper wrote, law enforcement agencies were interested. So, in early 2010, she was taken to the financial police in connection with a criminal case of fraud with the shares of the Almaty Heavy Engineering Plant (according to the publication, it was assumed that the enterprise was re-registered to Kurmangaliyeva using fake powers of attorney).

And in the fall of 2011, it became known that Kurmangaliyeva was put on the international wanted list. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, she was accused of fraud, extortion and arbitrariness, as well as kidnapping.

Villa AVBO, Cannes

“The Manhattan branch of the New York State Supreme Court received a lawsuit from Bolat Nazarbayev, the younger brother of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev. The plaintiff alleges that his ex-wife Maira (née Kurmangaliyeva) and her son Daniyar tricked him into stealing a $20 million apartment in the Plaza Hotel building.

The lawsuit says that the mother and son plotted to deceive him in 2008, when he was looking for an apartment in New York. As a result, Bolat Nazarbayev chose a condominium on the 18th floor of the Plaza in Central Park South, and at the same time Mayra and his son convinced him to give them the power of attorney to sign this transaction. "Daniyar and Maira assured Bolat that the only legal act of this would be to register an apartment in Plaza in his name without having to call him from Kazakhstan to the United States for this and give them the right to pay for the maintenance of the apartment," the lawsuit says.

While Bolat and Mayra were married, he had no reason to believe that the mother and son had decided to abuse his trust. Further, the lawsuit says that Daniyar was supposed to register the apartment only for his father, but he included his mother in the documents, and eight months later, using the right to sign, he re-registered the condominium for himself. The lawsuit emphasizes that Daniyar had no right to do so, since the power of attorney prohibits a member of the owner's family from receiving more than $12,000 a year on his behalf. Later, Bolat Nazarbayev learned that his stepson bought two apartments at 55 Wall Street for his father's four million dollars. The plaintiff demands that he return the apartment in the Plaza and $ 4 million, as well as pay for the damages incurred.

Bolat Nazarbayev married Mayra in July 2001, but then, according to him, he found out that she was not at all who she claims to be, that she had several surnames and was wanted by Interpol. Then, Bolat Nazarbayev writes in the lawsuit, he learned that Mayra was wanted in Kazakhstan for various crimes, including kidnapping and threats of physical violence while trying to extort money from a businessman. Where Maira Nazarbayeva-Kurmangaliyeva is located, it was not possible to establish, and Daniyar is not hiding from anyone and recently got engaged to the daughter of the Prime Minister of Malaysia.”

For our part, we can add that we managed to find Bolat Nazarbayev's statement of claim itself on the website of the Manhattan Court - [...], but we allowed ourselves to pull out of it only the power of attorney itself, according to which malicious fraud was allegedly committed.

Pay attention to the place of PERMANENT residence of the brother of the President of Kazakhstan - New York, Madison Avenue. That is, Bolat's lawyers indicated his New York address, not particularly caring about how ambiguous the phrase "New York resident Nazarbayev" sounds.

Below is the very controversial power of attorney and in a pdf-file - the statement of claim of Bolat Nazarbayev (in English).

Dubious documents of Kurmangaliyeva's son Daniyar

Daniyar Nazarbaev

Life is hard, but fun. Only recently I had a chance to tell a story about a Russian LDPR deputy, Ashot Yeghiazaryan, who escaped from charges of fraud from Moscow and now, living in California, plays the fool of the second Khodorkovsky and demands political asylum. And here is a no less entertaining story about the Kazakh boy Daniyar Nazarbayev. Also difficult ... Ridiculous.

In 2006, a young citizen of sovereign Kazakhstan, Daniyar Nazarbayev, arrived in New York. He appeared radiant with a sonorous name and showered with unmeasured money, for which the local seasoned audience immediately made a stand, sensing easy prey.

In October 2006, the New York Post reported that Daniyar Nazarbayev, described in the publication as "the son of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev," purchased a pair of apartments at 55 Wall Street. One of the two-bedroom apartments cost $2.9 million, while the one below, which has only one bedroom, cost $2.1 million. I do not know if this is true or gossip, but the press reported that "President Nazarbayev personally visited the house when he was at the UN summit, and then apparently approved the purchase." It smelled like a lot of money.

Among the first who wanted to join the new-found bubble were the consultants of the Ivy Success company; they undertook for $ 200,000 to help a visiting young man enter one of the eight universities that are members of the Ivy League - either Harvard or Yale ... Even so, the amount is still incomprehensible. It was, in fact, about tutoring, the red price of which is 50 bucks an hour for a hundred hours a month. Probably, they would not have asked for more if it were not for the royal name of the applicant. Apparently, not only the New York Post decided that Daniyar is the son of the most eternal president of Kazakhstan. The newly-appeared prince was mysteriously silent, which only confirmed the gossip about his royal origin.

Consultants from Ivy Success, having received their $ 200,000, for some reason lost interest in the young man and stopped loving him for this money, declaring that he was not fit for Ivy League universities. The money, however, was not returned, which became the subject of litigation. In those days, the American press made fun, drawing parallels between the cinematic jerk from Kazakhstan "Barat" and the very real Kazakhs - Daniyar and his mother Mayra Nazarbayeva, who burst out on a simple matter. However, Daniyar turned out to be a stubborn guy, he did enter the "ivy" Columbia University and should finish it in days.

And this is where the fun begins. Because Daniyar Nazarbayev turned out to be not Nazarbayev at all, but his documents on secondary education, which provided the basis for entering the university - sorry for the bad manners - pure bullshit. At the same time, his mother Mayra also does not quite have a sonorous surname, and Kazakh law enforcement agencies dreamed of talking to her herself, since her various life adventures now and then came into conflict with Kazakh laws. In general, the cinematic Kazakh Barat is resting ...

Let's start with Daniyar. By the time he entered Columbia University, he had two documents of education - a Leysin American School Diploma (Switzerland), issued in 2005, which did not give him the right to study at a university, because it was incomplete, and a high school diploma, issued in the same 2005 a year at a secondary school (gymnasium) in the small town of Talkara in the Almaty region of Kazakhstan. Don't ask me how it was possible to study in Switzerland and Kazakhstan at the same time - I don't know. Ask Daniyar - he is already a bachelor in five minutes and can dispel doubts.

All this strongly smacks of scam, because the leadership of that very Kazakh school does not know anything about its graduate with a royal surname, and the Swiss confirmed that Daniyar's diploma is not complete. I don’t know how it is in Switzerland, but in the post-Soviet space for fifty bucks in those days you could buy an absolutely legal form of any document on graduation from an educational institution - from vocational schools to Moscow State University. And for an additional bribe, also with "real" seals and entry into the relevant registration books of these educational institutions. [...]

And with the surname at five minutes to a bachelor, too, not everything goes smoothly. According to the Ministry of Justice of Kazakhstan, this surname was taken away from him by the decision of the relevant authorities, as acquired illegally, and all his documents, including his passport, were disavowed back in February 2010. It turns out that since that day he has been in the United States on illegal documents.

For his surname and for all the transformations on this occasion, Daniyar can thank his mother, nee Mayra Kurmangalieva. It was she who lured Bolat Nazarbaev, a real relative (they say that he was a brother) of the Kazakh president, into her ladies' networks and married him, forgetting in a hurry to divorce her previous husband D. Kesikbaev, whose last name Daniyar wore until he issued a second birth certificate in the name of Nazarbayev. There are legends about this lady in Kazakhstan - about her resourcefulness, squeamishness and indifference to the laws.

A boy named Daniyar with an incomprehensible surname turned out to be no less smart than his mother in matrimonial affairs. Rumor has it that he charmed Nooryana Najwa, the daughter of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, and is about to enter into a legal marriage with her. And what? A prominent guy, a lot of dough, a surname that takes your breath away ... Although, if I were a Malaysian dad, just in case, I would still check if Daniyar had previously been in some kind of youthful marriage. An apple from an apple tree, you know… But Alma-Ata is still a city of apples and apple trees. [...]

Mayra Nazarbayeva-Kurmangalieva (right), her eldest son Daniyar with his fiancee, and her youngest son Khanbolat

[respublika-kaz.info , 30.09.2011, "Kazakhmys" will be divided between Maira and Bolat?": It's been a long time since we recounted the Astana rumors, somehow all hands did not reach. [...]

Let's start with Maira Kurmangalieva, a former relative of the head of state. After a very scandalous divorce, she ceased to be the wife of Nursultan Abishevich's brother Bolat, received freedom, which she did not want at all, and her maiden name. Together with her, she lost the right to be related to the most important family in Kazakhstan and her first son, Daniyar. [...]

According to our information, Mayra Kurmangalieva, as an ex-wife, demanded that half of her ex-husband's property be given to her by filing a lawsuit against him in the United States. And enters this half, you know what? Kazakhmys shares worth $1 billion.

According to certain informed persons, it was Bolat Nazarbayev who received a large block of shares in Kazakhmys, which is currently estimated at $2 billion. It is clear that these securities did not belong to him, but ... you know who. But that's the whole point of the situation!

If Ms. Kurmangalieva had been in Kazakhstan, she would have been quickly brought to her senses. But she has long since hit the road abroad, where she and her son own multi-million dollar real estate in New York, Dubai and the Cote d'Azur. She is not going to return to Kazakhstan, because, according to the Kazakh press, about six criminal cases have been initiated against her here.

It is said that when “you know who” was told that he could lose half of his Kazakhmys shares, he became so furious that he promised to tear off the head of everyone who made such a mistake. But the problem is that Mayra Kurmangalieva filed a lawsuit in the US, where the courts are incorruptible. Moreover, they, as a rule, always take the side of abandoned wives. - Inset K.ru]

Children and other relatives of the top make "successful careers" not only in public service, but also in business and the financial sector. The expert sees the reason for this phenomenon in nepotism, which has become “traditional”.

DAUGHTERS, SONS-IN-LAW, GRANDCHILDREN OF NAZARBAYEV

In the ranking of the American site Forbes.com this year, as in the past, among the billionaires of the planet there are spouses 49-year-old Timur and 48-year-old Dinara Kulibaeva. Each of them has a fortune of 2.1 billion dollars. Dinara Kulibayeva is the daughter of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. She ranks third in the list of the richest in Kazakhstan.

The American website Forbes.com writes about Timur and Dinara Kulibayev that they own Halyk Bank through Almeks. If we take into account that not so long ago the People's Bank acquired HSBC bank (renamed Altyn bank) after the departure of foreign investors, then this married couple owns two banks.

Deputy Prime Minister Dariga Nazarbayeva, 52, the daughter of President Nazarbayev and the ex-wife of the late top businessman, former top official Rakhat Aliyev, with her $595 million according to Forbes.kz as of May 2013, ranked 13th in the list of the richest people in Kazakhstan. Thus, she is ten points behind her younger sister Dinara in this indicator. The site names media, telecommunications, development and finance as the sources of her fortune. At the same time, society began to forget that Dariga Nazarbayeva owned the bank. In 2010, she and her son Nurali Aliyev, as the media then reported, sold a controlling stake in Nurbank.

Nurali Aliyev, the 30-year-old deputy mayor of Astana, the eldest son of Dariga Nazarbayeva and Rakhat Aliyev, with a fortune of $ 200 million, according to Forbes.kz by May 2013, ranked 32nd among the 50 richest people in Kazakhstan.

The second son of Dariga Nazarbayeva and Rakhat Aliyev, 25-year-old Aisultan Nazarbayev, is not yet listed in any ratings of the rich. However, at the beginning of this autumn, he announced his ambitions for the position of President of the Football Federation of Kazakhstan. Which many observers consider "profitable". Half a month ago, the press secretary of the President of Kazakhstan said that Nazarbayev "prefers to watch the career development of his grandchildren from the outside."

NAZARBAYEV'S BROTHER AND NEPHEWS

Of the two brothers of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, one (Satybaldy) died in a car accident at the age of 34, the other brother, businessman Bolat Nazarbayev, is alive. It is known that Bolat Nazarbayev began his career as a plumber at a state farm. Now he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Kazakhmys Corporation. Some media sources call Bolat Nazarbayev a very rich man.

Bolat Nazarbayev was married to Mayra Nazarbayeva (Kurmangalieva). In 2013, court proceedings took place between Bolat Nazarbayev and his ex-wife. The couple did not share an apartment in New York worth $ 20 million. The stepson of Bolat Nazarbayev, Daniyar Kesikbayev, was also involved in the conflict.

According to KASE, as of September 1, 2014, the list of shareholders of Bank RBK included a new shareholder - Bolat Nazarbayev, with a stake of 7.83 percent of the bank's shares.

The 37-year-old nephew of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Major General Samat Abish, son of the late Satybaldy Nazarbayev, holds the position of deputy chairman of the KNB.

Another nephew of Nursultan Nazarbayev and also the son of his late brother is 45-year-old Kairat Satybaldyuly. At the age of 35 he became a general of the KNB. He began to join the military service from the Suvorov military school. However, after college, military service was interspersed with civilian activities. In 2005, he was dismissed from the KNB. Now he is the secretary of the presidential party Nur Otan. He positions himself as a deeply religious Muslim.

Kairat Satybaldyuly a week ago became one of the shareholders and investors of the Kaspi holding, which, in turn, became the owner of about 90 percent of the shares of Kaspi Bank.

“We have created a new Kaspi holding. We have two new shareholders in the holding. Kairat Satybaldyuly, who is my old friend and partner. And Mikhail Lomtadze, Chairman of the Board of Kaspi Bank, with whom we have been building our business for 10 years. Today, Kaspi Bank is the main asset of the holding and we, together with partners, plan to invest in new interesting and innovative projects,” the Kaspibank.kz website quotes Vyacheslav Kim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kaspi Bank.

Both nephews of President Nursultan Nazarbayev - Kairat Satybaldyuly and Samat Abish - previously had the surname Nazarbayev. Observers say that it is traditional for the Kazakh ruling elite to change the names of their relatives. So, the son of the chairman of the KNB, Nurtai Abykaev, Sergey, has the surname Nurtaev. The former head of the presidential administration, Sarybai Kalmurzaev (now deceased), has a son, Nurbol, whose last name is Sultan. Observers attribute such phenomena to the desire of the Kazakh elite not to draw public attention to the careers of their close relatives.

CLOSEST ASSOCIATES OF THE PRESIDENT

Among the inner circle of 75-year-old President Nursultan Nazarbayev, according to observers, one of the most effective crisis managers of their kind are the current defense minister, 58-year-old Imangali Tasmagambetov, and the current mayor of Astana, 61-year-old Adilbek Dzhaksybekov.

Imangali Tasmagambetov and Adilbek Dzhaksybekov are also known for the entrepreneurial success of their relatives. Of the latter, perhaps the most famous is the son-in-law of Defense Minister Tasmagambetov, entrepreneur and multimillionaire Kenes Rakishev.

In January of this year, it was decided to prematurely terminate the powers of Kenes Rakishev as a member of the board of directors of the national company Kazakhstan Engineering. This company is part of the Samruk-Kazyna fund and is under the control of the Ministry of Defense. But already in March of this year, Kenes Rakishev joined the board of directors of Kazkommertsbank. It also enters into other commercial structures. Kenes Rakishev's fortune is estimated by Forbes.kz at $684 million; he ranks tenth among the 50 richest people in Kazakhstan.

Forbes.kz website estimates the fortune of the Dzhaksybekov family at $628 million. The Dzhaksybekov family, according to Forbes.kz, includes 60-year-old Lyazzat Dzhaksybekova (Ibragimova) - the wife of Adilbek Dzhaksybekov, his 37-year-old son Dauren and 59-year-old brother Serik Dzhaksybekov, a Senate deputy. The Dzhaksybekov family controls the Tsesna group of companies, which includes Tsesnabank, Tsesna-Astyk Concern LLP, Medet-Holding LLP, the Tsesna-Capital brokerage company and the Tsesna-Garant insurance company.

There are two relatives of high-ranking officials on the list of Qazaq banki shareholders. Nurkhan Nurlanov, the son of the head of the Kazakh presidential administration, owns a 9 percent stake. Bakhyt Ibragim with a 10% stake is, as they say in the media, the son-in-law of Deputy Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev.

Such a list, as you might guess, if you continue, will be long. However, as Marat Asipov, a journalist for the Almaty investigative website Ratel, says, in order to draw a definite conclusion, it is not at all necessary to continue this list to "evil infinity." He sees the reason for this phenomenon primarily in the nepotism that has become traditional for the country:

This is a "normal" occurrence. Nothing new is happening here - it has always been like this. This is characteristic of Asiatic modes of government.

The leadership of Kazakhstan does not try, according to him, to deliberately keep their inner circle and relatives from engaging in politics, since high positions or profitable places in business and finance are always associated with politics and, as a rule, they participate in politics in a general way. At the same time, Marat Asipov also draws attention to the fate of such as the former son-in-law of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Rakhat Aliyev, and some other people from the president’s entourage, who fall into disgrace and find themselves in exile, losing not only high positions, but also their fortunes.

It must be understood that they are all a bargaining chip. After they do some dirty work, they are removed, - says Marat Asipov.

Kazakhstan's longtime president, Nursultan Nazarbayev, sometimes publicly expresses "bewilderment" that national companies and banks have turned into businesses of "nephews and sons."
